Learn how to change your focus from day-to-day issue management to a long-term, strategic perspective. The course involves the extensive use of case studies and real-world examples that encourage non-linear thinking and help you "look around the corner." Furthermore, the you will not only have a chance to implement the strategic thinking tactics, but also develop a collective sense of ownership of your company’s strategic direction.

2012 Region 6 Conference hosted by PMI Tulsa

Come visit "Green Country" as the Tulsa Chapter of PMI hosts the Region 6 Leadership Conference.  Hear from our keynote speaker, Carey Lohrenz (former F-14 Tomcat fighter pilot) as she shares her "Leadership Lessons from the Flight Deck."  Learn how Project Management has successfully been implemented in our school systems and how you can do the same in yours. Join us for breakout sessions as we share ideas on how to more effectively lead our chapters followed by networking and dinner at McNellie's Irish Pub! 

On Sunday, we'll hear from our Region 6 mentor, Walter Viali and Chapter Administrator, Drew Ihlenfeld as they share some updates and plans that are sure to impact our chapters. Our closing speaker will be Martin Piplits of The Persimmon Group, presenting his witty and insightful take on the "Managing of Intercultural Teams".

PMIT is also offering Region 6 attendees the option of attending our Professional Development Day on Friday, May 18th for up to 7 PDUs.

PMI Tulsa's Professional Development Day: May 18th - 19th

Gain valuable information, earn PDUs and network with other PMPs at the PMIT Professional Development Day as we focus on the value of strong leadership in project management.

Walter Viali, of the Leadership Consulting Group, will provide a unique look at project leadership in his sessions on "Why Gen. George Armstrong Custer Should Have Been a PMP-Revisiting the Battle of the Little Bighorn with the PMBOK ® Guide" and "Project Management According to Napoleon-A Lesson in Leadership."

Also, you don't want to miss the Leadership Essentials workshop Friday afternoon conducted by Bill Fournet - Founder, President & CEO of The Persimmon Group.

This year, we are also hosting PMI Chapter Board members at the Region 6 conference on May 18th-20th.  PDD participants are invited to attend the Region 6 conference morning session on Saturday, May 19th with keynote speaker, Carey Lohrenz, former F-14 Tomcat fighter pilot for "Lessons in Leadership from the Flight Deck."  Afterwards, there will be a presentation on the success of implementing project management within our school systems followed by lunch. Saturday morning activities will earn participants an additional 3 PDUs.

Join us at OSU-Tulsa on February 10th at 11:30.  We will be meeting in the B.S. Roberts room.

Chuck Tryon will present on the subject of Knowledge Management and his new book.

Lunch will be served by The Dog House.  Meeting cost for Members is only $5, and $10 for non-members.  Lunch is $5.
