Introducing New Project Landscape Newsletter - November Edition

Project Landscape is an entirely new kind of chapter communication. It is the first collaborative newsletter effort between two Project Management Institute Chapters, PMI Oklahoma City and PMI Tulsa.

How does it work? The feature content, in this edition, pages 1-6, is completely shared between the participating chapters. Following the shared feature content, each group inserts their chapter-specific information, allowing flexibility while still maintaining the highest quality standards.

Project Landscape is a win-win for PMI chapters and PM authors, such as Peter de Jager and Lee Lambert who are featured in this edition, who wish to share compelling content. Chapters get great original articles, and authors get great exposure.

So please enjoy the new and improved face of chapter communication and collaboration with the first issue of Project Landscape.

InFocus Newsletter - October 2007 Edition

Here are some of the highlights of the October 2007 issue of InFocus.

  • It's not every day that you witness a pre-meditated murder.   But, just in time for Halloween, we report on a shocking double homicide.  Two popular newsletters have been axed.  See p. 2-3 for the grisly details.
  • Tulsa TechFest 2007 is this Friday and Saturday, October 19-20.  See the flyer on p. 7, and we'll see you there.
  • Celeste Roth, who was a very popular speaker at our September member meeting, has followed up this month with an article titled "Alternative Dispute Resolution."  See p. 4-5.
  • Last, but not least, Dana White of the University of Oklahoma needs your help.  See p. 6 for her request.

InFocus Newsletter - September 2007 Edition

This newsletter contains the most current program for our Knowledge and Project Management (KPM) Symposium, just two weeks away!!  Please print pages 3-5 of this newsletter for your company's bulletin board.  Register today and bring at least one guest, because this is certainly the best opportunity in the country to combine learning in Knowledge Management (KM) and Project Management (PM).  By the way, member registration is only $99 so now is a good time to join the PMI Tulsa Chapter.

InFocus Newsletter - August 2007 Edition

There are several hot topics in the August issue of InFocus, appropriate for the hottest month of the year and two great feature articles in this issue.

  • What can John Lennon and Paul McCartney teach us about project management and self-mastery in the midst of chaos?  See p. 4.
  • How can IT projects be more successful through knowledge management (KM) and learning?  See p. 8.

InFocus Newsletter - July 2007 Edition

The July issue includes two follow-on articles written by PMI Tulsa members.  They are about Risk Management and "Radically Simple" Earned Value Management (EVM).  These two series have been picked up by other PMI chapters and PMI SIG publications.  July is the start of our annual Business Partnership program, so several Platinum, Gold and Silver partners are recognized in this issue.  More partnership announcements will follow in future issues.  Last, but not least, the cover story talks about the Tulsa Chapter's collaboration with the OKC Chapter.

Special Note:  The next member meeting will be Wednesday, August 1.  See p. 15 for more details.
